Does your career seem to be on a fast track going no where and heading there fast? If so, then look no further than your own mirror to change your career course. While there may be many people in your industry who will help you once you've succeeded, it's will be hard to find anyone who will help you when you are climbing up a ladder that sways in the wind and each rung seems like it's going down instead of up.
When you need inspiration and motivation in order to avoid a career train wreck, look at yourself in the mirror directly in your eyes and remember the classic children's book, "I Think I can, I think I can, I know I can, I know I can." From "The Little Train That Could." Say to yourself when you are looking in that mirror that You Can do it! You will do it! And then get out of your comfort zone and Just DO it!
Once you start speaking to your subconscious mind, which is what you are doing when you talk to yourself in this fashion, you will begin to see changes you never dreamt would occur. The subconscious mind is a very powerful tool and often overlooked. Once you proactively seek a change it will begin to happen and the way you feel about yourself will begin to change as well.
It's at that crucial moment that you need to begin your search on the Internet for local networking opportunities and begin networking today. Build your list of potential supporters one hand shake at a time. Get to know the people who may play a potential role in your future on a personal level. Every one at the top didn't start there.
Everyone you meet is important, something Garth Brooks, one of the greatest marketers of our time knew all to well. He never forgot a name or the place he met them even if it was "just a fan" of his work. A fan of the past can be a future corporate president that will remember you. The next hand you shake may be the person who plays a pivotal role in your future careers success.
